Recently purchased 05, SR20 with Continental IO 360 E.

The aircraft first start of the day is usual after second attempt
however all further starts (hot eng)take 4-5 attempts and at this
rate I'll soon need a starter as well.

I just had mag rebuilt/overhauled/timed and during runup mag check
is well with in tolerance.

Thanks!

We've never had any trouble hot-starting our SR20. In fact, that's one of the things that I like about the airplane. It is always easy to start. For a hot start, we do not prime the engine at all. Just crank and gradually advance the mixture.

Cliff, You will no doubt receive many tips for hot starting. Take this for what it's worth and don't deviate from your POH, but try not pulling the mixture back to full lean when shutting down the engine. Simply turn off the avionics bus, mags and the main bus leaving the mixture where it is. This will leave some fuel in the lines keeping them cool for your next start.
