June 1, 1999, on Avoiding Litigation:
The Uniform Commercial Code applies to transactions between _merchants_ and not between ordinary consumers and merchants. Ordinary Joe and Josephine Consumer have much more protection under various consumer protection laws that vary widely by state. The UCC above applies in every state except for Louisiana.
